Hospitality is in my DNA. I grew up in my family's hotel in the Netherlands, where I learned early that extraordinary experiences aren't built on luxury alone — they're built on how people feel. How they truly feel seen, safe, nourished, and cared for.
Before I became a coach, I spent a decade in the exact environments you navigate every day: high-pressure consulting, global transformations, the heavy weight of leadership expectations.
For a long time, I believed there was a price for my ambition. I thought I'd become the "rich aunt" — the woman with the massive career who could never have a family, because I couldn't see how they'd fit into the same world. I moved from Germany to Switzerland hoping the scenery would save me. Within months, I was back in Tokyo, working 80-hour weeks.
That was my wake-up call. I had changed everything on the outside — the company, the country, the commute — but nothing on the inside. I was stuck in a cycle of "recovering from my life," believing the answer was the next yoga class, the next holiday. But as long as recovery is your only strategy, you're always one busy week away from burnout.
What changed everything wasn't slowing down. It was expanding my capacity — identity work rooted in neuroscience, conscious leadership, the mastery of feminine energy and emotional intelligence — so I could lead from clarity instead of survival.
I didn't just stay the "rich aunt." I became the woman who could hold it all. I built my coaching business next to a demanding consultancy job, with a ten-month-old daughter at home. I moved to Lombok not to escape, but to expand — to scale my company, co-found a second business, and build our life on a tropical island.
